Russell Cecil, M.D.
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr Cecil’s practice focuses on most aspects of Orthopedic surgery including Joint Replacement and Orthopedic Trauma. In 2013, Dr Cecil was the first surgeon in the Capital District to offer his patients Custom Total Knee Implants as a joint replacement option. His custom knee patients receive implants that are specifically designed for each patient, resulting in faster recovery times, less bone/blood loss, and a more “natural feeling knee replacement option.” Primary focus areas for Dr.Cecil include:

Gerald Ortiz, M.D.
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Ortiz obtained his Bachelor of Science at Cornell University in Ithaca, where he was named a Presidential Scholar. He subsequently obtained his Medical Degree at Cornell University Medical Center in New York City. He served his Internship and Residency at the L.A. County USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was also chosen to perform a prestigious Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic under the guidance of Dr. Frank Jobe.
After completing his fellowship, he moved to Amsterdam and joined Dr. Cecil at Mohawk Valley Orthopedic Associates. He is Board Certified and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the New York State Society of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the Montgomery County Medical Society, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America, a select group of orthopedic surgeons specially trained in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery.
Dr. Ortiz is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Albany Medical College. Primary focus areas for Dr. Ortiz include:

Arnaldo Martinez, M.D.
Spine Surgeon
Dr. Martinez comes to us from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he completed fellowships in spine surgery and pediatric orthopedics. He earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. He is a member of the North American Spine Society and the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery.

Joachim Tenuta, M.D.
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Joachim Tenuta is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He began his academic career at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
Dr. Tenuta completed his internship in General Surgery at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia, followed by a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C..

Keven Hughes
Physician Assistant
Keven recently earned a master’s in physician assistant studies from Albany Medical College.
Previously, he worked as a patient care technician in St. Mary’s Healthcare acute rehabilitation and medical-surgical units while pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Science.

Josh D’Agostino
Physician Assistant
Josh has four years of PA experience, including three at Mohawk Valley Orthopedics.
He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marywood University in Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistant and Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery.
